Sara Cannizzaro

Postdoctoral Researcher - 'Public Voices in AI' project

Sara Cannizzaro was a postdoctoral researcher on the ‘Public Voices in AI’ project as part of the Digital Good Network. Working with Dr. Susan Oman, she will develop an evidence review centred on equity and inclusion of public voices in artificial intelligence research, development and policy. Sara has worked on a number of large, externally funded research projects on the ethics and adoption of new and emerging technologies (including Extended Reality, Climate Engineering, Neurotechnologies), digital media platforms, media trust and democracy. She was research fellow at de Montfort University on the H2020 funded project, ‘Ethics of new and emerging technologies with high socio-economic impact’ (TechEthos); at IULM University (Italy) on the H2020 funded project ‘European Media Platforms: assessing positive and negative externalities for European Culture’ (EUMEPLAT), and on the Horizon Europe project ‘Mapping Media for Future Democracies’ (MEDEMAP); at the University of Warwick on the EPSRC funded projects ‘Privacy, Ethics, Trust, Reliability and Adoption of the Internet of Things’ (PETRAS) and ‘Future AI and Robotics for Space’ (FAIRSPACE). She is visiting researcher at the University of Bologna (Italy) and the University of Warwick. Prior to this, Sara taught modules on digital media, media and communications, research methods at several British HEs including the University of Warwick, the University of Lincoln, Middlesex University, University of West London and London Metropolitan University. She obtained her PhD in media and communications from London Metropolitan University with a thesis titled ‘Biosemiotics as Systems Theory: towards a new form of cultural analysis’.

Danielle Hope

Postdoctoral Researcher

Danielle Hope (nee Paddock) is a postdoctoral researcher in resilience as part of the Digital Good Network. Working with the Resilience Challenge Leader, Professor Abigail Millings, her research explores the role of mobile phones in people’s relationships with themselves and with others.

Danielle is also a Research Associate in the Centre for Behavioural Science and Applied Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University. She specialises in cyberpsychology, and her research adopts a mixed methods approach to understand the risks and opportunities afforded by digital technologies particularly in relation to adolescent development including identity development, peer relationships and general wellbeing and mental health. She has experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating psychological and behaviour change interventions working closely with local authorities and funders such as the Department of Education. Danielle is also a committee member on the British Psychological Society’s Cyberpsychology Section.

Kim Snooks

Postdoctoral Researcher - Digital Good Index

Kim is a design researcher who uses design futuring methods to explore perceptions of personal data in emerging technologies, with a focus on societal challenges. She is the postdoctoral research for the development of the Digital Good Index.

She was previously involved in the Digital Good Network through a core team research project on ‘good’ future digital identities. Her PhD was in Design at ImaginationLancaster, Lancaster University using speculative methods to critically examine future health-tracking technologies.
