Professor of Digital Society, University of Sheffield
Helen Kennedy is Professor of Digital Society at the University of Sheffield. An interdisciplinary researcher, Helen has researched how digital developments are experienced by ’ordinary people,’ and how these experiences can inform the work of digital practitioners in ways that overcome inequalities for more than 20 years. She has secured over £8 million in grant funding, published over 50 outputs, including two monographs and two edited collections, given keynotes at the major international conferences in her field and advised government departments and practitioner bodies. She also directs the Living With Data programme of research.
As Director of the Digital Good Network, Helen leads our work. She also co-ordinates production of Digital Good Index, acts as interdisciplinarity lead, to ensure our interdisciplinarity objective is met, and oversees networking with related UKRI investments.
