Dr Rachel Middlemass is Head of Research and Development (R&D) Partnerships at Zinc. Following her PhD at the University of Nottingham, Rachel spent ten years working on knowledge exchange and research impact across a number of UK research institutions, including University of East London, UCL and the LSE. She has a wealth of experience supporting the acceleration of impact from research across a range of academic disciplines. She joined Zinc in 2020 to lead its work with research institutions and funders, connecting academics to early-stage technology startups and facilitating cross-sector collaborations. At Zinc, she is part of a team looking to build a connected R&D system for the social and behavioural sciences.
